Message Driven Workflows

Workflows in ReCAP involve interaction with external systems and in particular with partners and GFA (Inventory Management System) to facilitate a successful event. This is achieved in the middleware by utilizing ActiveMQ.

Example workflow: Request

1. Partner sends a Request to SCSB
2. SCSB processes the request
   1. Issues a "retrieval order" to GFA
   2. GFA responds with a 200 Ok. 
3. SCSB puts a "hold" in the borrowing institution.
4. SCSB will publish a "success message" to the "partner" topic.
