Migrating from SFTP to AWS S3
We are in ReCAP Phase-4 Stage-2 and the SCSB is moving from SFTP to AWS S3 as a storage access. S3 has advantages over ftp, not only in terms of security but also performance, cost and capacity. S3 provides unlimited storage, the total volume of data and number of objects you can store are unlimited, whereas traditional FTP servers are limited to the amount of space available on their hosting server.
AWS S3 User Interface have a display as shown in the below image. On the left side we have three S3 buckets for each environment SCSB-Prod, SCSB-Test, SCSB-Test1. On the right side we have Folders containing the files.
The image below shows how User interface is being displayed to the person using it. For accessing this User need to have the below details –
Account Name/ User Name : SCSB-Test
Access Key: ABC
Secret access key : XYZ
This is the first screen displayed to the User
Â
When any Bucket is being processed, the status of the same is shown below under the Task heading. All the folders can be accessed going inside each S3 Bucket.
User can access all the folders and get the information contained in these folders.
